Our Livestock
Sheep:
We have Border Leicester/Cheviot crosses. They are a medium sized, hardy sheep for the dogs to work with. They have wonderful wool, which is a plus, since my mother-in-law enjoys spinning. They have been bred to our Shetland ram. We are looking for a smaller sized, hardy sheep, with excellent wool. These lambs should also be nice for dogs to work, but may be a little "lighter" to move.
Ducks:
We have Crested, Khaki Campbells and Rouens. We are looking to acquire Indian Runners in the spring. Our ducks live in the "duck taj mahal" as our friends call it. (It is the nicest building on our property at this time). The ducks are available for herding lessons.
Clipso:
Clipso is our 24 year old Morgan/Quarter Horse/ Belgian gelding. I have had him since he was 2 1/2 years old. He is the official greeter of the farm. As you pull in, he probably will trot up to the fence and look for a handout. Carrots and apples are his favorite. He has been known to enjoy a kool-aid or two. Please be sure to keep your dogs on leash and not let them greet him. Clip is pretty protective of his home and doesn't enjoy strange dogs in his face.
